Melissa gets the chop for charity!

In July 2014, Melissa North, a Junior Business Analyst based in our Basildon office, decided to chop off over 30cm of her hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust and just over four years of hair growth later, she decided to do it again! This time round, it was 23cm of hair.

Little Princess Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom which supplies and funds high quality wigs made of real hair to children who have hair loss as a result of cancer treatment or other illnesses. They receive no formal funding and rely solely on the efforts of fundraisers.

At Adare, we are passionate about our wider impact on the local community and charities and in 2018/19 we are supporting children’s charities, with each of our 40 international locations joining in the fundraising.

Melissa said of the charity chop; “I can’t imagine what it must be like to go through something that would make you lose your hair at such a young age and I thought it was the least I could do to donate some of mine. I’m already planning on letting it grow again so I can donate it in 2022!
